Italian BBQ
August 6, 2006 by garran
Finally a much needed break from reality and those instances around me.
Jus, Susan and I started working at 2pm, in hopes of having everything ready by the time the rest showed up at 4pm
Justin’s menu consisted of two types of pastas: Spagetti with a homemade tomato meat sauce and Riggatoni with a Veloute style sauce, everyones personal favorite.
To compliment the two pastas he prepared garlic bread using sweet bread instead of the normal french.
The sweetness of the bread itself complimented the basic garlic and butter very nicely.
As I said before, it’s great to know people in different industries!!
Outside on the grill we kept it very simple.
Thin-cut short ribs seasoned with only Hawaiian salt and black ground pepper.
Pre-cooked garlic and artichoke sausages, portugese sausages, stuffed mushrooms and some red bell peppers.
Back in the kitchen, Susan was working on her Lilikoi desert, using fresh ingredients straight from her backyard.
Once everyone arrived our BBQ menu consisted of the following:
Once everyone was fed, the girls watched their movie while the guys retreated to the backyard to talk story.
For those we haven’t seen for a while, we shared life’s details.
Those that we see quite often, well we talked about what we did last week.
Whatever the case, it was not only great conversations and laughs but also the comradarae.
No one is safe around us, anyone or anything is fair game in our conversations - right Gualio - but it’s all done in fun.
Once the girls were done watching their movie, our BBQ routine continuted, Texas Hold’Em.
Chris’ house, Chris won … enough said
Before everyone left we had to get a group picture, who knows when we’ll see Jason and Michelle again.
Especially since they can’t navigate!!
