Coco Chanel Photo Exhibit 5/9-6/6
Chanel-Hawaii is celebrating their 25th Anniversary with this one-time event.
Currently on display is the works of world renown photographer Douglas Kirkland, who has captured priceless images of legendary fashion icon, Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel. Some of the photographs on display are featured in Kirkland’s photo-book entitled Mademoiselle, in which he captures the softer-side of Chanel during the summer of 1962. This is the first time the photographs, curated by James Cavello, are being shown since their New York debut and acclaimed showing at the Art Basel Miami Beach.
In addition, Chanel will be previewing their upcoming fall collection, Paris-Moscou. Ornate head dresses worn on the runways of Chanel’s most recent Paris-Moscou Fashion Show were specially flown in for this event.
This event is open to the public (reservations are recommended) and currently showing at Chanel’s Hawaii flagship store located in Waikiki. The gallery exhibit is displayed on the 3rd-Floor, usually closed to the public, with complementary beverages served at your request. Tours are guided by trained docents, who were trained by Mr. Cavello specifically for this event. Validated parking is available at the King Kalakaua Plaza (Niketown).
For those interested in art, photography or fashion … this is an event you don’t want to miss.
